The NDIS exists to support people with disability, taking the place they deserve in the community, alongside everyone else. This Peer Network will help you maximise the possibilities for that to happen while building the capacity and skills for independence and social and economic participation.
The NDIS for Inclusion Peer Network is for people with disability and family members who want to use an NDIS plan to enable a person with disability to live their best life in the community.
It’s a group where you can:
Meetings are on Wednesdays, 12.30 to 1.30pm (Sydney time) online via Zoom.
Topics to be confirmed for the following sessions:
Penny Graham has supported her son Al to attend his local primary and high school and play soccer for many years with his local community soccer team. As a young adult Al has launched his own online business and is actively involved in advocacy roles sharing his lived experience of a typical life. He has moved out of home into his rental unit and is the proud uncle to a niece and nephew.
A Peer is someone with similar experience to you. A Peer Network is a connected group of peers.
A peer network is not a seminar. It’s a group that works when everyone contributes.
The facilitator is there to help the group stay on track, not to provide all the answers.
